Be the first to view the 150 floral displays exhibited throughout the de Young’s galleries, while you savor wine and food pairings created by McCall Associates and sway to music by the Moodswing Orchestra. The evening will feature Floral Fashions—a presentation by local design students of clothing crafted from flowers. Benefit Drawing tickets will be available for purchase. Enter to win any of a host of luxury prize packages. Complimentary garage parking will be provided.

Piazzoni Murals Room Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, April 20, 21 and 22 Lunch service at 12:00 p.m.; Tea service at 3:00 p.m.
The serene Piazzoni murals, "Land" and "Sea," provide the perfect backdrop for luncheon or high tea, catered by McCall Associates. Tickets are required.
Museum visitors may also eat without a reservation in the de Young Café or enjoy a “grab and go” lunch on the tented terrace.

Join us for a fun hat contest! Judging at noon in the Piazzoni Murals Room with Mistress of Ceremonies and judge Jan Wahl of KRON-TV. Categories are inspired by French Impressionist paintings in anticipation of the upcoming exhibition "Birth of Impressionism: Masterpieces from the Musée d’Orsay." Prizes will be awarded to the winners.

Koret Auditorium
Six of the world’s most prestigious floral design experts will create arrangements on stage while discussing style, trends, and tricks of the trade. Tickets are required.

NATASHA LISITSA Tuesday, April 20 – 10:00 a.m.

Natasha Lisitsa, owner and lead designer of Waterlily Pond Floral Design Studio, is recognized in the San Francisco Bay Area for her artistry and innovation. Natasha worked as a software engineer before leaving the high-tech industry to pursue her love of flowers and art. A student of floral design at the Sogetsu school of ikebana, she developed her own style, fusing Eastern and Western design principles, often referred to as “exuberant ikebana.”
In 2009, Natasha’s magnificent 800-pound floral display floated in mid air in Wilsey Court to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Bouquets to Art. In October 2009, visitors to the Cathedral Festival of Flowers at St. Mary’s Cathedral in San Francisco were treated to an impressive creation ascending 20 feet skyward.
One of the most sought-after sources for weddings and special events, Waterlily Pond was voted “Best of the Bay Wedding Flowers” by San Francisco Chronicle readers. Natasha Lisitsa, together with Carla D’Agostino and Daniel Schultz of Waterlily Pond Studio will demonstrate large architectural arrangements, designed to create a WOW for special events. They will reveal techniques that incorporate organic and unconventional materials with exotic and seasonal flowers.

Ruth Loiseau is a master floral designer. Her company, Ruth L. specializes in providing unique, outstanding, and high-quality floral pieces. She is an accomplished lecturer in the art of floral design.
The White House flower shop calls upon Ruth’s extensive experience in floral design for special events. From the administration of Ronald Reagan to George W. Bush and those in between, she has lent her expertise to a myriad of White House events including state dinners and royal visits from Queen Elizabeth and Princess Diana. She will continue with special events for the Obama administration.
Ruth’s unique style and elegance stand out in any project she creates. Her proficiency in decorating the entirety of a home’s interior, including chandeliers, fireplaces, walls, and windows, is unparalleled. Her floral taste, the flowers and greens she selects, blend seamlessly to create the setting of a room. Ruth’s graceful style has made her a favorite top designer in home and special event settings throughout the country.

Award-winning designers and lecturers Tor Gundersen from Oslo, Norway, and Kiko Zimmerman from Chicago and Tokyo, Japan, joined together in 1989. This dynamic and trendsetting team will share its unique approach to creating imaginative floral designs.
In collaboration, Tor and Kiko take creative floral design to new levels. You will be treated to demonstrations of new and inspiring techniques and concepts about the design process itself. Two opportunities to see this globetrotting team are offered in different presentations.They will bring to the stage cutting-edge floral designs as they appear side-by-side to offer originality, craftsmanship, and beauty.
JUN PINON Wednesday, April 21 – 1:30 p.m. Underwritten by the San Francisco Auxiliary of the Fine Arts Museums
In the words of Jun Pinon, “Flowers are meant to be shared.” We agree! Jun, a celebrated San Francisco floral designer, will be sharing his creativity and talent on our stage. Jun’s stunning arrangements welcome visitors and residents to San Francisco’s luxury hotels, society events, including the opening of the San Francisco Ballet, and top local venues such as Bloomingdales.
A budding floral designer who arrived in the United States at the age of 16, Jun began his floral career delivering his arrangements from the back of a delivery truck. Jun has blossomed into one of San Francisco’s most popular floral designers.
From Hawaii’s luxury hotel the Halekulani to San Francisco’s Ritz-Carlton, Jun creates drama with his signature styles, boasting vivid fuchsia and chartreuse. Designs with a vibrancy of color and texture coupled with a graceful yet geometric design will dazzle you. Intimate, informative, and fun, the ever personable Jun will give you new ideas for your floral arrangements.

HASKELL EARGLE Thursday, April 22 – 1:30 p.m. Underwritten by the Hillsborough and San Francisco Auxiliaries of the Fine Arts Museums
A perennial favorite with our audiences, Haskell brings to the stage his Southern charm, a droll sense of humor, and marvelous creativity. He will design in a variety of styles utilizing a wide range of materials to create spectacular masterpieces.
A well-known international floral design educator, Haskell ran a successful shop in North Carolina for many years. In addition to past presentations at Bouquets to Art, Haskell’s talents were showcased as he created floral designs for Academy Award celebrities, gave presentations at New Orleans’s Art in Bloom, and participated as a past judge for the Rose Parade. Haskell has been recognized by his colleagues as both a North Carolina Designer of the Year and a North Carolina Florist of the Year. He is past president and board member of the American Institute of Floral Designers.
